ABOUT ME
I am Alan Meyer and I am running for a City Council seat in the City of Parker, Texas
I moved to Parker 23 years ago from Plano, TX with my family and we purchased a home in Moss Ridge Estates. We chose Moss Ridge Estates for the country living neighborhood on 2 acre lots with no HOA while remaining part of the Plano Independent School District (as our 2 daughters were still High School age).
I am currently retired, however during my career I was a top performing Senior Manager focused on IT application software implementation and support. I had a demonstrated track record of achievement in project and relationship management as well as solution architecting. I also have focused capabilities in consulting and profit and loss oversight. I am analytical by nature and a forward- thinking leader which has enabled me to be a strategic planner while challenging new ideas to ensure the best interests are being addressed.
As a member of the City Council, I will always represent the best interests of the majority of the City of Parker residents, and I welcome your support and please vote for me, Alan Meyer, for the City of Parker Council in the May 2nd election!
WHY I AM RUNNING
This past year I took a more active interest in how the current City Council has been addressing issues that affect the City of Parker residents. I have attended several council meetings and was one of many residents that spoke and voiced the concerns of many Parker residents. It became evident that the current City Council would “hear but not listen” to the concerns raised by the speakers. They would vote in favor of proposals that served their own agendas and not the best interests of the majority of the City of Parker residents.
My late father always told me: “Put up or Shut up!” So, I am putting up and running to make a difference and represent the best interests of the majority of the City of Parker residents.
We need a change to leadership focused on lowering property taxes, lowering cost of water usage, making fiscally responsible decisions that do not adversely impact the City of Parker residents and settle the seven lawsuits the City is involved in while also avoiding any new lawsuits.
gOALS
- Lower Property Taxes
- Reduce water usage costs
- Make fiscally responsible decisions that benefit Parker residents
- Identify and Implement road repair & drainage projects
- Represent the majority of Parker residents
- Keep focus on 2-acre minimum lot sizes
- Reduce restrictive ordinances
